Sr Manager/ Associate Director, Pharma PMO

Job Summary:

The Sr Manager/ Associate Director, Pharma PMO Reporting to the Vice President, Project Management Office. This is a key role within the Project Management Office (PMO) team to lead and oversee the development of high-quality project management practice across the organization and the delivery of complex cross-organizational projects. As the Sr Manager/Associate Director, you will lead a portfolio of cross-organization projects and mobilization initiatives with the potential to make a significant impact across the business. We are seeking a highly motivated, collaborative, results-oriented individual with the creativity, resourcefulness, and flexibility to excel in a growing company.

Responsibilities:

  • Project planning: Create and maintain project charter, roadmaps, timelines, and objectives. Manage project scope, schedule, financials and relationships.
  • Communication: Manages overall project communications including executive stakeholders, IT colleagues, vendors, business stakeholders, and clients as needed.
  • Team management: Coordinate tasks, schedule and evaluate team members and manage stakeholder expectations
  • Project execution: Ensure projects meet timelines and resource constraints, and comply with legal and ethical requirements
  • Documentation: Create and manage all project related artifacts including but not limited to Project Plans, RAID logs, Change Management, Status and Meeting documentation
  • Risk management: Identify and manage project-related risks. Ensure appropriate escalations and mitigations.
  • Process improvement: Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiencies
  • Vendor management: Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers

Qualifications:

  • Degree in life sciences or computer sciences or a related field strongly desired.
  • Must have relevant Information Technology pharmaceutical / biotechnology industry experience
  • Minimum 5-7 Years commercial pharma/ biotech IT project management specifically in data management, data warehousing and master data management.
  • Strong base understanding of standard data warehouse designs elements such as data ingestion, modification, and extraction
  • Strong experience with Smartsheet highly preferred.
  • Ability to articulate complex concepts in a simple and coherent manner, both verbally and in writing
  • Proven experience of working with complex integrated systems, using creative and strategic thinking to deliver exceptional results
  • Strong ability to listen to discussions and capture actions and requirements in meaningful, precise manner that can be understood by both technical and non-technical participants
  • Ability to present concepts and lead discussions on design issues with authority and poise both internally and to clients. This is a client-facing role
  • Ability to collaborate and relate to team members from a large variety of backgrounds on a daily basis. Must have experience working with local and virtual teams
  • Excellent Microsoft Office computer skills (Word, Excel, PPT, Visio). Proficient with MS Project, Smartsheet, JIRA and common Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Excel, Power Point, Word, One Note, Visio, Outlook)
  • Experience working with SharePoint (or similar) project workspaces / document repositories.
  • Experience with the following items:
    • Working in a regulated environment, must have life sciences experience.
    • Working with and managing third party suppliers/vendors
  • Ability to operate with limited oversight and needs to command the respect of a broad range of business and technology stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient at recognizing and defining risks and developing response and mitigation plans for them.

Work Location: Place of employment is expected to be 90% remote. For all remote meetings, all employees are required to be on-camera with appropriate business casual attire and background. On occasion, some travel to client locations or company meetings may be required. Travel will be no more than 10%.

Physical Requirements: This position requires the ability to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods. The ability to move about to accomplish tasks. Adjusting or moving objects up to 20 pounds in all directions. Communicating verbally and written word with others to exchange information. Exposure to a standard office environment with average room temperatures with no adverse environmental conditions expected.
