Onsite Network Engineer-Marlborough, MA

Responsibilities

  • Perform configuration changes.
  • Administer firewalls, switches, load balancers, and wireless access points.
  • Troubleshoot network hardware and resolve connectivity issues.
  • Monitor network availability, ISP performance, and remediate alerts.
  • Apply firmware updates and security patches to network devices.
  • Monitor SSL/TLS certificates for expiration and renewal.
  • Optimize network performance through continuous monitoring and tuning.
  • Maintain configuration backups for network devices.
  • Manage event escalations and coordinate incident resolution.
  • Provision VLANs, assign IPs, and configure network ports.
  • Administer access control and security policies.

Supported Technologies

  • Firewalls: Palo Alto, Checkpoint
  • Switching & Routing: Cisco, Meraki, Aruba

Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven experience in network engineering, administration, or support.
  • Hands-on experience with firewalls, switches, and wireless access points.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware and network issues.
  • Experience with network monitoring, performance tuning, and event escalation.
  • Familiarity with security patching, firmware updates, and change management.
  • Ability to provision and configure VLANs, IP addressing, and port assignments.
  • Knowledge of access administration and certificate management.
  • Excellent communication skills and client-focused mindset.
  • Industry certifications (CCNA, CCNP, PCNSE, etc.) are a plus.
