Position Overview
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for shaping and executing the company’s financial strategy during a period of accelerated growth and private-equity partnership. The CFO will drive disciplined financial management, optimize capital structure, and ensure operational alignment with the company’s strategic and investor objectives.
This individual will bring deep experience in debt and banking relationships, cash flow forecasting, board and lender reporting, and PE-style value creation planning. The CFO will be both a strategic partner and an operator — balancing precision in financial control with insight and influence at the leadership table.
Core Responsibilities
Strategic & Financial Leadership
- Develop and execute the financial strategy aligned to shareholder value creation and long-term growth goals.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO, private-equity partners, and the Board on capital allocation, performance trends, and financial risk management.
- Lead annual operating plan, long-range forecasting, and scenario modeling to guide strategic decisions and growth initiatives.
- Drive operational efficiency and profitability across business units through margin management and cost optimization.
Capital Structure, Banking & Debt Management
- Lead all banking and lending relationships, including negotiation and administration of credit facilities, term loans, and revolving lines of credit.
- Oversee covenant compliance, debt service, and liquidity management, ensuring proactive communication with lenders and investors.
- Manage treasury and cash operations with a focus on working capital optimization and free cash flow generation.
- Evaluate opportunities for refinancing, recapitalization, and other financing strategies that support growth and enhance equity returns.
Financial Operations, Controls & Reporting
- Oversee accounting, FP&A, tax, audit, and treasury functions to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
- Implement scalable systems, reporting tools, and internal controls appropriate for a PE-backed, multi-entity services organization.
- Deliver monthly and quarterly financial packages, including Board materials, lender reports, and investor dashboards.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulatory standards while supporting continuous process improvement.
Private Equity & Board Engagement
- Serve as the primary liaison to private-equity partners, lenders, and the Board of Directors.
- Develop and maintain a robust value creation plan (VCP) framework with clear KPI tracking, variance analysis, and return metrics.
- Lead preparation for Board and investor meetings, ensuring clarity and transparency in financial reporting and business performance.
- Support diligence, integration, and financial modeling for tuck-in acquisitions or strategic partnerships.
Operational Partnership
- Collaborate with business and delivery leaders to ensure accurate project forecasting, utilization management, and pricing discipline.
- Translate complex financial data into actionable insights that drive decision-making at the operational level.
- Familiar with professional services, MSP, fixed fee, and recurring revenue models.
- Support initiatives around automation, technology enablement, and scalability of finance processes.
Leadership & Culture
- Build and develop a high-performing finance organization capable of scaling with the company’s growth trajectory.
- Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement across all functions.
- Lead by example with integrity, sound judgment, and a balanced focus on execution and strategic vision.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or MBA preferred.
- 10 - 15+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including time as CFO or senior finance executive within a PE-backed or leveraged company.
- Proven expertise in debt financing, banking relationships, and covenant management.
- Background in professional or technology-enabled services, with both project-based and recurring-revenue models.
- Experience implementing or upgrading ERP, financial planning, and analytics platforms.
- Track record of driving EBITDA expansion, cash conversion, and exit readiness.
