Veeva Project Manager, Pharma IT Consulting

Job Summary

The Veeva Project Manager leads successful development, migration, integration and deployment from Veeva CRM to Veeva Vault. Including change management, requirements gathering, integrated systems impact, project management, and organizational change management. This role leads a team of matrixed resources and requires a high level of organization and broad understanding of pharma/biotech IT systems and services. This involves managing resources, tracking progress, and collaborating with stakeholders to achieve project goals within budget and on time.

Requirements

  • Professional system implementation / project management experience & professional experience managing pharma/bio-tech information technology Veeva CRM/Vault projects.
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably with a technical concentration (e.g., Computer Science, etc.)
  • Deep experience in Pharmaceutical / Biotechnology IT Veeva CRM/ Vault migrations.
  • Ability to convey technical matters to non-technical stakeholders in an understandable way
  • Ability to operate with limited oversight and needs to command the respect of a broad range of business and technology stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously if necessary.
  • Proficient at recognizing and defining risks and developing response and mitigation plans for them.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with MS Project, Smartsheet, JIRA and common Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Excel, Power Point, Word, One Note, Visio, Outlook)
  • Experience managing Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) and / or Software as a Service (SaaS) projects, including integrations into and out of these systems, data migrations, etc
  • Technically skilled Project Management professional comfortable defining and managing the tasks of architects, business analysts, developers, database administrators, infrastructure, security, and other technical functions.
  • Proficient at forecasting and managing project spend.
  • Must have experience working with local and virtual teams.
  • Must have experience managing mixed internal/vendor and vendor-only project delivery teams. Responsibilities
  • Manages overall scope of the project as defined in the project charter, including the scope, schedule, financials, etc.
  • Planning, executing, and controlling migration projects, including resource allocation, timeline management, and risk assessment.
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for clients, communicating project status, and addressing their needs. Prepares for and conducts all project meetings, workshops and presentations.
  • Detailed technical understanding of Veeva CRM and migration process and design of Veeva Vault applications, data migration tools, and migration best practices.
  • Serves as the key technical oversight ensuring migration risks and impacts are accounted for.
  • Maintains a clear and detailed understanding of the integration points of the solution and accounts for them in the requirements and project plan.
  • Manages overall project communications, including communications to executive stakeholders, IT colleagues, vendors, business stakeholders, and clients as needed.
  • Ensuring adherence to regulatory and Veeva procedural requirements.
  • Collaborating with various internal and external teams (e.g., Product Engineering, Sales, Strategy) to ensure successful implementation.
  • Ensures all required deliverables are included in the overall project schedule and are completed by the project. • As necessary for applicable projects, collaborates with the Validation Manager to ensure the system’s validation needs are assessed and defined.
  • Begins preparations for Service Readiness Planning (handoffs to Production Support).

Work Schedule:

Typical schedule will be Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Must be flexible to accommodate project needs.

Work Location: Place of employment is expected to be remote. For all remote meetings, there is an expectation of being on-camera for all meetings with appropriate attire and background. Some travel may be required up to 10%.

Physical Requirements: This position requires the ability to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods. The ability to move about to accomplish tasks. Adjusting or moving objects up to 20 pounds in all directions.

Communicating verbally and written word with others to exchange information. Exposure to a standard office environment with average room temperatures with no adverse environmental conditions expected.
